Attack of the MoonbatsPart III

The cold desert wind sped me along as I rumbled through the many potholes and road construction zones of Tucson, Arizona. It was about 6:30 am on Wednesday, January 10th in the Year of Our Lord 2007 and I was headed for the Military Recruiting Center on 2302 E. Speedway Blvd. The science fiction stories I read in the last millennium always assumed we would have a moonbase by now. But I was headed for moonbats, not a moonbase. And such creatures can always be found at this location and weekly time.
Moonbat (short for "barking moonbat") was coined by Perry de Havilland to mean "someone on the extreme edge of whatever their -ism happens to be" but is often appropriately used to describe those associated with Communism or left wing causes, especially in the case of "anti-war" protesters. Protesting military recruiting offices is not the way to request a change in our government's policy. The proper channel is through contacting the Legislative and Administrative branches in ways such as writing your Senator, Representative or the President. However, waving signs with death counts and accusing our troops of atrocities is a way to demoralize our troops and civilian population during time of military conflict.
Why would moonbats, who after all are still Americans, want to do such an evil thing? That is a deep mystery many people wonder about. The answer lies in the roots of "anti-war" theology, which is really a diverse group of Democrats, terrorist supporters and other left wing ideologies led by Communists. None of these groups like America the way it is, and while they may not have any idea how to bring it down so they can build it back up again in their image, they will still work in tandem with others they see battling our principles of Liberty. We all know that Communists would kill all the terrorists, and terrorists would kill every Communist, if they could. (Either side would just enslave Democrats who empowered them.)
But they all work together to help bring down the good ol' US of A. In San Francisco and other large cities, Palestinian terrorist supporters are always out in force to support the Communists and Democrats, and vice versa. Observing the placards in their parades and marches can easily verify this. Here in Tucson there are only a few open terrorist supporters, but many Communists, Socialists, Progressives and the like. The leader of the "Tucson Peace Action Coalition" which organizes protests in Southeast Arizona is also the Organizational Secretary for Communist Party USA in Arizona.
The Coalition consists of many other left wing organizations like Code Pink who praise Communist leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez as well as having supported terrorists in Fallujuh, Iraq with money and supplies. "World Can't Wait" is another large organizing entity that is widely known as a front group for Revolutionary Communist Party, whose name speaks for itself. Their logo is a red flag with white star, which uses a rifle for a flagpole! Now that's what I call "Peace Action!" These groups are well funded by "limousine liberals" but also collect money for "the cause" whenever possible.
I successfully countered a "World Can't Wait" protest rally at the University of Arizona in November of last year. An attendee (not a staff member,) egged on by a group of threatening left wing "debaters" attacked a student who had joined me standing to the side peacefully holding signs and handing out articles. He turned his attention to my library book and me when I stepped in between them, hurling the book away while hitting, shoving and trying to take my sign. The "debaters" faded back into the crowd when I shouted, "Call 911!" and "Violence at a peace rally!" leaving the attacking peacenik to be cited and released by quick acting University of Arizona Police Officers. They later said I had acted properly in calling for help and not punching back. Had I been alone in a dark alley I probably would have fought back but in a public place or protest it's best to let the police handle it.
Recently the man accepted a court diversion program; if he attends anger management classes and pays a fine, the charges will be dropped from his record. Although the charge was only a misdemeanor, the two fisted anti-war advocate was represented by a high-powered volunteer lawyer, which seems a bit unusual. For myself, I wish him only the best since as a Christian, I believe in forgiving my enemies and blessing those who curse me. I pray that he truly finds peace.
That philosophy does not include surrendering to terrorism or allowing Communist propaganda to go unanswered, however! For a wonder I was early on the 10th, joining cheerful Pro-Americans as we set up flags and banners. The two large "We Support the Troops, the Mission, the President (of) America" banners are especially effective. Many of us talked about our relatives who had recently joined the US Marines, wondering if they would all be in boot camp together.
Frank, the redoubtable retired Marine officer who is quick to say "Glad you could meet me," or other witty sayings when introduced, was working hard as usual. We all wore heavy coats and gloves against the bitter wind and unusually cold weather, exchanging the usual japes about "Global Warming." While the East Coast was unusually warm, we in the West were suffering. Of course, those in the North and East would laugh at our idea of cold any time!
I had also attended on December 19th, 2006. Then, as today, only 4-5 moonbats attended including the Veterans for Peace lady with her American flag (desecrated with a peace sign,) a far cry from last year's attendance. On our side, about 20-30 Pro-Americans usually make an appearance, comprised of military moms and wives, retired people, middle class workers who take a day off and patriotic young people. Several of the ladies were raised in South America under oppressive governments and say they understand and treasure American citizenship and freedom more than most. Therefore they will never stop supporting our troops.
The formerly nicknamed "Fighter Guy" was there; he never threatens anyone since being confronted by a military dad who is also a veteran Army Airborne Ranger. He has been re-nicknamed "Semper Fraud" because of his dubious veteran status. No Marine veterans on the Pro-American side believe his claims of service. We shook hands as he took his place with us as usual, also leaving early as usual. His small, vague sign merely adds to our perceived number as passing car passengers don't have time to read it.
The moonbat theme on January 10th was supposed to be about Guantanamo Bay Detention Center which has been nicknamed "Gitmo." Liberals don't like that we detain terrorists there, to "protest" they constantly spew out false charges against US troops that work at the site. On their websites they had called for more protesters. In response I had prepared many copies of an article from the Department of Defense Gitmo website called "Outdated Images of Detention Center, Mission Frustrate Guantanamo Troopers," but only a few moonbats showed up! The "Veterans for Peace" lady sourly refused a copy.
Tucson's Wednesday Military Recruiting Center counter protest (now mostly a Support The Troops rally) was started by a lone military mom we now call "General" Pat who faced down at least forty cursing, jeering peace lovers by herself one day about two years ago. Her efforts have been extremely successful, causing most liberals to "cut and run" from their own protest. However, as long as even one moonbat continues to falsely accuse our troops while pretending to support them, we must continue the fight to inform the populace and counter liberal lies. What's going on in your town? It's time to stand up for our troops, and stand up for America!
