Eugenics - a bad idea

by Wayne Boettcher
Posted: 04/11/2008

The ideas found in eugenics theory stretch far back into history, yet its "recent" resurgence and name can be traced to Sir Francis Galton in 1883. He was inspired by his cousin Charles Darwin's survival of the fittest theory. The whole idea is that if only the "best" or "fittest" are allowed to have children, the human race would improve into a "super" race of beings. Science was the keyword and rationale for anything and everything that followed the pseudo-science cult of eugenics, the dregs of which remain with us even today.

The problems with eugenics theory are myriad, yet one that has always struck me is how these scientific breeding proponents decide who is the fittest. What criteria do they use? Records show it's always largely a matter of guessing and opinion. In more recent history Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been diagnosed more and more often for children, and corresponding medicine dispensed. Yet when the number of children on medication reaches seven percent in some areas one has to wonder if perhaps this is simply a type of personality that is no more or less "normal" than any other.

Yet if eugenics were to be employed as it once was in America, ADHD diagnosed people could possibly be sterilized in the name of controlling unwanted behavior, since many believe its root cause to be genetic. Lest you doubt, over sixty thousand people were involuntarily rendered incapable of having children in America during the 20th Century, the practice only completely being stopped in the 1970's. The Nazi's not only sterilized but also killed many people whom they considered less than qualified to live. As was the case in America, the criteria used were often racial (besides the usual guessing and politics.)

The most famous proponent of eugenics was Margaret Sanger, who wrote on page 2 of the Birth Control Review in Nov. 1921, "The purpose in promoting birth control was "to create a race of thoroughbreds." In fact the Nazis were great followers of Sanger's work and her ideas of achieving racial superiority through eugenic means. It was Margaret Sanger who founded Planned Parenthood, which is still in business today.

The Negro Project in 1939 was a major endeavor of Planned Parenthood. Its aim was to convince black leaders and ministers to embrace abortion and endorse it for their followers. Planned Parenthood had been experimenting in Harlem, NY with a clinic for some years; now the big push began as they took advantage of the Depression and the free love movement to enact their evil plan. Fortunately, eugenics lost a lot of credibility during World War II as people saw what Hitler was doing with it.

That didn't stop Planned Parenthood, though. They continued on a smaller scale than they had hoped for before the defeat of the Nazis. Medical knowledge at the time not being up to the task, determined pro-abortionists counted on the fact that most people had no idea of what it looked like inside a womb. However, most folks understood something was alive in there. The eugenics crowd needed more help.

They found it in the American Civil Liberties Union, an organization formed to protect radical Communists from the law. No doubt American Communists and Nazis fell out during World War II when their sponsoring countries went to war, but since both believe in "scientific" Darwinian government, it was only "natural" that they would join up again.

The ACLU helps liberal law professors get into colleges to indoctrinate young students and fights public school systems to force them into teaching pro-evolution and abortion curriculum only, with no scientific dissent allowed. Liberal newspapers and judges are their army of darkness of which the Scopes trial was only the beginning. ACLU lost that trial and all "evidence" of evolution they provided for that circus has been shown to be a hoax or wrong. To a thinking person, their loud cry of "science" rings hollow when it is realized that they are unwilling to back up their evolution or abortion claims with any real evidence. Yet that trial is hailed as a great victory for evolution.

What do they want, then, if not to prove their theories with evidence? I believe they want the populace to shut up and let them get back to their human breeding experiments, since that's what most of their arguments boil down to. The Supreme Court has lost some liberal activists, but the next President may decide the issue by choosing which next Supreme Court Justice takes the bench. Two candidates for the next presidential election are strongly pro-abortion, one says he is against abortion but has blocked a Supreme Court Justice appointment that would have interpreted the Constitution strictly. What a scary thought!

Of course not all pro-abortionists understand the big picture and the ultimate goals of the pro-abortion leaders and industry, and how much greed also plays a role. (Abortion nets millions of dollars.). Yet, perhaps non-understanding pro-abortionists will understand someday, if you tell them about it. First you must delve into the sickening world of abortion and familiarize your self with all the facts. That's not very pleasant, and has perhaps has led some Pro-Life advocates to the point where their actions may seem a little too much. Don't believe left-wing propaganda that says any Pro-Life movement supports killing doctors. No public Pro-Life Groups do, and they roundly denounce any crazy person or criminal that kills a doctor.

While you don't have to join any particular group (you can always just write your Congress, Senate and Administration on your own) there are plenty of thoughtful Pro-Life groups who you can stand with to make your voice heard. I urge any activist for any cause to take a moment, get the facts on abortion and check out the Pro-Life movement. Perhaps the cause you advocate would cause liberals to think you're "feeble-minded" and so should be put on the eugenics list if America gets to that point again.

Let's all join in writing Congress, Senate and Administration to allow scientific dissent on evolution and abortion. In this country, our free speech in these matters is limited. Will you simply shut up? Please don't. Research evolution and abortion dissent and make your voice heard to stand up for freedom - and America!
